I am a WordPress Development and Search Marketing Specialist in Northampton MA. I have always been a creative type from writing poetry and music to styling my wardrobe and home decorating. My style tends to be very minimalist and with a very Zen type influence. My ultimate goal is to consult, public speak, and teach online. I already offer and do these services, I would just love to only be doing these down the road. I am 100% entrepreneur at heart. Even as a child I made a killing off my first lemonade stand. I remember sitting outside at the stand with my brother waiting for potential customers. A few days had gone by and we had made a handful of quarters each day. As I was sitting in the hot sun at the stand I watched over the hill the shadows of the bicycles rolling down the Florence bike path. Ding! We brought our stand up to the bike path in the heat of summer and everyone wanted to stop for lemonade! We were even able to higher our prices and employed other neighborhood kids to help us with our new demanding volume of customers. I always had something going on: Choreographing my own dances with neighborhood kids, a handwritten newspaper I sold subscriptions to other neighbors for, and then there was Pet Patrol! Pet Patrol was a non profit I put together at age 10 to find people’s missing pets, also offering sitting and washing services. My mother came home from work one day to find me at 10 in a business meeting with the local Dog Officer. This was serious! ☺ As a young adult I had various successes and failures as an entrepreneur. No one succeeds without failures and the lessons they bring. No one. The key is to dust off and try again. I was an eBay Powerseller, selling rockabilly and pin up remakes of vintage clothes and lingerie. I moved off of eBay and had to learn how to drive traffic to my new site. I did this a little to well and ended up with more orders than I could handle thus I went under. From there I was pretty down for awhile as I had just fallen from what felt like the top of the world. I also had gave up an Ada Comstock Scholarship at Smith College in Northampton because I was already so successful. After that I decided I wanted to go back to school but before the forms were even filed I found myself freelancing all the skills I had learned from my experience with web marketing and commerce. I learned many, many more skills along the way and have been successfully freelancing on my own as a Web Developer, WordPress Specialist, Search Engine and Social Media Marketing Specialist as well as a bunch of other great skills such as consulting, teaching, JQuery and a bunch of other programming languages and the list goes on. I am enjoying my work and the benefits of being self employed. I look forward to continuing on my current path, building more and more clientele, learning new skills and see where my entrepreneurial spirit takes me down the road! Oh and I am in love with DIY & Pinterest! I am also very much in love with my talented boyfriend: Dan Madonia.

Independent contractor for the past 15 years or so. Front-end dev, most often for distance-learning web apps: UI/IA, XSLT, jQuery, HTML/JS/CSS and a lot of other acronyms. Or, UI designer: pretty colors and icons, plus all the real UI work which doesn't involve pretty colors or icons. Sometimes, both on the same project. That can be fun. Meanwhile, hey, did you notice that this form is totally vulnerable to SQL injections?

My experience helping people effectively communicate using the Internet is deep and wide: designing web sites, e-commerce, branding, podcasting, marketing, instructional design, eBook publishing, and search engine optimization. These are just some of the projects I've helped clients accomplish. My M.A. in communication gives me a unique skill set; I look at both the big picture and how my client might fit into that picture.
