Julia B. Ellingboe is writer, editor, and role-playing game designer with a deep love for traditional storytelling and folklore. Her most recent RPG (role-playing game), Tales of the Fisherman's Wife, a storytelling game of Japanese folk tales, will be available in 2012. In 2007 she published Steal Away Jordan: Stories from American's Peculiar Institution. In 2010, Julia penned "Hag Ride", a campaign frame for Brennan Taylor's Mortal Coil (Galileo Games). An avid parlor larp player and writer, she has written several as-yet-unpublished larps. In recent years Julia has returned to short story writing. Her piece "Ezekiel Saw the Wheel" will be published in Stone Skin Press' New Heroes anthology. As an editor, she has worked on RPGirl, Valley Network, and a growing list of academic publications. Julia holds a bachelor's degree in Religion and Biblical Literature from Smith College, and is enrolled in UC San Diego Extension School's Certificate in Copyediting. |
